A great investment often means the company did a great job operating in a sector with limited competition, or the investor did a great job going into that company with limited competition, when most other investors are skeptical. Either way, that decision to invest couldn’t have been a popular one by definition. Making a controversial decision is the job of every investor. At the upcoming CVCA Senior Executive Investment and Management Sharing Roundtable, jointly organized by China Venture Capital Association and Shanghai Private Equity Association, we are honored to have Mr. Frank Tang, CEO of FountainVest Partners and Vice-chairman of Shanghai Private Equity Association, share some thoughts on the common dilemmas and trade offs we face as investors, and induce a discussion on better decision making. Mr. Tang is the CEO and Managing Partner of FountainVest Partners, one of the largest private equity funds dedicated to the China market. Prior to FountainVest, Mr. Tang was a Senior Managing Director and Head of China Investments of Temasek Holdings. He was a member of Temasek Holdings' Senior Investment & Divestment Committee and Senior Management Committee.
