It is never easy for women to start a business. But nowadays in China, there are more and more female entrepreneurs, performing superbly in their careers. So, how did they gain their success? What precious experience and stories do they have on running a business?

March 8, 2010 marked the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day, and the International Women's Day Roundtable Luncheon was successfully held in Beijing by China Venture Capital Association (CVCA). We were most fortunate to have invited female CEOs from different industries like education, medical care, agriculture, innovative, and consumer goods. Our guest speakers were Julia Huang, Chairman & CEO of ChinaEdu Corporation; Dr. Han Xiaohong, CEO of Ciming Checkup; Sarah Xu, President of Shanghai Y & T Outdoor Manufacturing Co., Ltd.; Leona YU, CEO of Beijing Goldenway Bio-tech Co., Ltd.; Yongzhuang Zhao, CEO of China Puppet Art Theatre Co., Ltd.; and Yimin Zimmerer, Managing Director of Walden International.

The guest speakers shared with the attendees their rich experience of running a business, the challenges and choices in their careers, as well as their confidence and difficulties in the leadership. Their in-depth and engaging speeches were well received by all in attendance.

We at CVCA hope that there are an increasing number of female entrepreneurs on the business stage, showing their elegance and confidence! It was a great pleasure for us to offer a platform for communication. CVCA President Ms. Frances Huang states, “CVCA is a member-based trade organization established to promote the interests and the development of venture capital ("VC") and private equity ("PE") industry in the Greater China Region. CVCA has been supporting and advocating entrepreneurship since its establishment. We hope the number of female entrepreneurs will continue to grow in the future.”
