CVCA and Marsh co-organized the CVCA Lunch & Learning - China Inbound & Outbound M&A: Applying Transactional Risk Insurance in Beijing on August 30, 2012. The meeting attracted professionals from Swiss Reinsurance, Towers Watson, Offshore Incorporations Group, Hong Capital, Lenovo Group, Yili Industrial Group, Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison Law firm, Global Law Office, etc.

Michael Turnbull, Mergers & Acquisitions Manager of Chartis, together with David Holiday, Head of Transactional Risk of Marsh Hong Kong, shared their advices on transactional risk solutions and risk and insurance due diligence. The audience was briefed the overview of Warranty & Indemnity (W &I) insurance. "W & I can be used strategically in auction/bid situations to reduce a seller's indemnity obligations or to minimize indemnity obligations when divesting assets." David said. He then analyzed a few case studies on sell side policy and buyer's policy. Michael explained the scope and essential issues of risk and insurance due diligence in detail. Their lectures were followed by a Q&A session and more communications between speakers and participants in a relaxed lunch environment.
