CVCA is committed to fostering a favorable regulatory environment for China's Venture Capital/ Private Equity industry. Through meetings, roundtable discussions, and the submission of industry consultation papers, CVCA, led by its Chairman and Board of Governors, has established extensive and effective communication with industry-related governmental policy makers on both state and local levels. Further, CVCA's board of governors was invited to attend a number of consultation meetings by related government agencies on key policy making issues in 2009. CVCA's board delegation also visited state government agencies for policy consultation and their contribution to the development of this industry was highly praised.

At the request of the National Development and Reform Commission, State Administration of Foreign Exchange, Department of Foreign Investment Administration of Ministry of Commerce, China Securities Regulatory Commission and other government agencies, CVCA submitted the industry's feedback to support the making of policy.














CVCA's research team systematically tracks development trends in both the industry and policy-making. CVCA's monthly Private Equity Matters and CVCA's News Alert are circulated among our members. The research team also develops surveys and reports on selected topics, shares research results among members, and submits White Papers to related governmental departments.

The CVCA Academy was established this year. It aims to provide tailored training courses to CVCA members, VC/PE professionals, management team of portfolio companies and those who would like to know more about the VC/PE industry. We seek to create a strong learning and sharing culture in our common community and sustain the transfer of knowledge and information to enhance industry standards.

CVCA's Annual General Meeting & Summit has become one of the most important and highly recognized events in China's VC and PE industry. Each year, members and the community gather at the events to catch up with old associates, network, share experiences, and learn about the latest industry trends. Each year, around 300-400 delegates attend this summit.

One of CVCA's missions is to facilitate networking and knowledge sharing opportunities among members. Thus, CVCA organizes extensive seminars on industry hot topics such as RMB funds and the ChiNext Listing. These have been very popular among CVCA members and the industry professionals. Our speakers are professionals with lengthy experience and high prestige. To facilitate networking and education for young (or young at heart) VC professionals, CVCA launched a "Young Venture Capitalist Club (YVCC)" in mid-2007. The YVCC is for all VC/PE investors and related professionals working in the Greater China region. YVCC is a non-profit club which is managed by its organizing committee.

The club has grown to over 300 members and 10 committee members since its establishment, and it has organized 32 various social recreational activities and professional training courses.



In order to promote communication among different industries, between the entrepreneurs and investors, and to strengthen CVCA's industrial influence, CVCA is also very supportive of external events and CVCA members are able to enjoy special offers when participating in these events.

One of CVCA's missions is to foster an understanding of the importance of venture capital and private equity to the vitality of not just the Greater China economy, but the global economy too. Thus, CVCA arranged a series of interviews in 2009 with influential media to promote the relationship between the industry and the media. Meanwhile, CVCA continues to distribute a monthly membership newsletter "CVCA in Contact" to facilitate effective communication among members.

To better offer professional services to CVCA members, CVCA has been dedicated to building its sustainable development. In consideration of costs, the CVCA secretariat team recruited a new Public Relations Manager, and a Research Manager this year. A Training Manager was also appointed to oversee CVCA Academy development. Further, clearer work division, and staff motivation, evaluation and training mechanisms have been established. CVCA also moved to a new office, enabling the organization to receive visitors in an improved environment and accommodate the expanded professional team.

CVCA is an independent non-profitable organization, and our most precious resource is our members. We will take full account of the members' needs when we prepare events and trainings, choose research topics and conduct our daily work, to provide high-quality service and meet the needs of our members. CVCA could not maintain growth without support from its members. We sincerely hope our members actively participate in all kinds of events, support research and training courses, as well as share with us your valuable comments and suggestions in the benefits of CVCA growth.


CVCA has sought to create a professional corporate image. The CVCA profile has been updated, and a new website domain name www.cvca.org.cn was launched with a new layout. CVCA's 2009 Membership Directory was updated and the annual sponsorship plan has also been released.

In addition, 2009 has seen CVCA actively expand its cooperation partners, and the organization has paid visits to and supported their activities in providing special offers to CVCA members.




   





With the year of the Tiger around the corner, CVCA is about to embrace its eighth birthday.

In the New Year, we will continue to develop more events, training and innovative service products so as to better meet our members' needs, and to better serve the members and the industry. We will continue to strengthen our communication with the government and different sectors, and consolidate our relationship as a representative and voice of the industry. In terms of research, the CVCA research team will continue to track the industry trends, policy and regulatory developments, and issue more research reports on important industry topics.

In 2010, we truly hope that all of our members will continue to support our work and provide great feedback. We sincerely wish you a prosperous 2010!
