"We have both interest and high expectations for the future of investment in Taiwan," said Yichen Zhang, Chairman of China Venture Capital Association (CVCA) and Chief Executive Officer of CITIC Capital Holdings Limited, during the recent CVCA Study Mission to Taiwan.

On July 8 to 9, 2010, following the recent signing of The Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA), CVCA organized a "CVCA Study Mission to Taiwan" to strengthen relations with Taiwan's industry leaders. The delegation visited not only the Council for Economic Planning & Development Executive Yuan, Straits Exchange Foundation, and Taiwan Stock Exchange, but also attended industry gatherings hosted by Taiwan Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (TVCA) and Taiwan Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Council (MAPECT). Enterprises such as Transcend Information Inc. and The Eslite Corporation were also included as important visits on the trip. The mission was primarily directed toward promotion of communication and sharing of experience across the Taiwan Strait.

With the ECFA signed and finalized as of June 29, 2010, the stage has been set for a new Post ECFA Era. As a result, Taiwan and mainland China will begin easing many of the restrictive measures governing trade relations and begin developing stronger trade cooperation. These developments will mark significant strides toward a more mature economic relationship between Taiwan and mainland of China, which will stabilize and strengthen with time.

The CVCA Study Mission to Taiwan consisted of thirteen members; captained by Yichen Zhang, Chairman of CVCA and Chief Executive Officer of CITIC Capital Holdings Limited, and vice-captained by Paul Yang, Governor of CVCA and Chairman and CEO of CDIB Capital (International). Their communication with Taiwan's industry leaders received a positive response from both the government and many enterprises, all of which attracted much coverage from the media.
